Duntanlich Mine
Duntanlich Mine
UAV365 conducted a survey at Duntanlich Mine, located in Aberfeldy, Perthshire. Duntanlich is a fully operational barite mine that necessitated control verification and a topographical survey. Therefore, our Leica TS15 total station was utilised to execute a closed-loop traverse of the site. Subsequently, our team entered the mine to verify and establish new control.
Finally, the Emesent Hovermap ST mobile laser scanner was mounted to a backpack which then scanned the entire mine, resulting in a fully georeferenced point cloud.
Control for the Emesent Hovermap ST was established with the use of 500mm reflective discs, which were surveyed in the control verification stage using our total station. This mass data collection utilising LiDAR allowed us to extract wall, roof and ground levels within the mine in 5 metre chainages.
